I am looking for a dog.
By that a boy •
At this point, I am trying to decide among a German Shepard, a Doberman, and an American Bulldog. Is there anyone who has any expirience with dogs and knows which ones have the best personality out of these three dogs?
Any input at this time would be extremely helpful. Also, which one sheds the least?
currently I have one female and one male small breed Doha conditions, great companions and good family starter dog. They are Shih-Tzus and in my opinion, the most devoted dogs I have ever owned. The dogs you asked about are wonderful also, but here in this place, many people look down at dog owners....as if we are crazy to love them like family members.
If you're interested, I have photos, just let me know.

Hahahahaha Bleu you must be joking because no-one is stupid enough to have made those comments seriously!!!
Wards off infection? Clearly you know NOTHING about dogs. The dog will be MORE prone to ear infections as the ear canal loses it's protective flap which prevents a lot of the dirt and bacteria entering the ear.
Just because you think it looks nicer is not a reason to do it. Am I within my right to come to your house, knock you out and mutilate your face because I think you'll look better? No, so why would you do it to a dog. They were born with ears like that for a reason.
There is a reason why ear cropping and other mutilations are illegal all over the world. And yes I do know what I'm talking about.
Clearly you have no respect for animals.
1. You'll take the dog with you when you leave
2. If it's a Doberman you won't have it's ears cut
3. You will get help training it. Contact Xena for training, she is highly experienced with large breed dogs.
WHY ARE PEOPLE SO AGAINST CROPPING A DOG'S EARS?!! DO YOU ALSO OPPOSE BRACES FOR A CHILDS TEETH??
If its done by a trained vet, it should be encouraged. The dog looks better and it wards off infection.
Do we have Pug here in Doha?
- Miss Saigon - check ur PM count me in for ur puppies
Where are you planning on getting the dog from??
I have had a Doberman it was a great pet. Needs lots of exercise though and didn't like other dogs (but this isn't really a problem out here).
German Shepherds aren't a breed I'd consider, they seem too vacant.
If I were you I'd look at a Stafforshire Bull Terrier.
If you get any of those breeds PLEASE promise 3 things:
1. You'll take the dog with you when you leave
2. If it's a Doberman you won't have it's ears cut
3. You will get help training it. Contact Xena for training, she is highly experienced with large breed dogs.
If you do, good luck to you.
PM me, our dog just have two male puppies, thanks
Under 18 and retired - you must be extremely rich then!
I'm guessing this is your first dog? If so a Doberman is not for you. Try something a little more docile like a Labrador or retriever.
First, you need to check the approved dog list of breeds allowed here in Qatar. for more info. (http://www.qatarliving.com/answers/pets-and-animals/what-dog-breeds-are-not-allowed-into-qatar)
Good Luck finding just the right dog for you!

I've always wanted to have a doberman or another bull terrier. Beautiful yet ugly dogs lol!
Contact QAWS who will be able to give you detailed advice on all aspects of owning a dog, and recommend which breed would be most suitable for you.
These are breeds that may not be for the beginner dog-owner. Each requires a great deal of specific training for that kind of dog. Neither may these dogs be particularly suited to Qatar. Good for you for doing your homework first.
