Theres probably already a 100 forums with this topic. So might aswell start another one to keep the ball rolling. Please help out your fellow QL'ers buy posting helpfull tips with detail for finding work in Doha.

There are many people new Ex-Pats new to Qatar and are struggling to find work. I have personally noticed that such jobs like, electricians, hvac technicians, and other engineering techinician positioins here do not pay as well as they would in other countries. I.e, in Canada these jobs are considered reputable jobs with a very good salary, but I find most of such positions are sourced to Indian/ phillapino/ and other nationalities that fit the working class.

If anyone has any advice on finding work, or is in HR please post tips to help.

Thanks to QL

Best tip. Don't come here unless you have a job offer, or unless you have loads of money to live on while you search for work.

To many people think it is easy to just come here then find work. It don't work this way 99.9 percent of the time. Not as easy as people think.

Most places will not take CV s by hand. A lot of potential employers only hire from recruitment agencies, so waste of time using their just for show websites to apply.

Really it is who you know to get working here.

Best wishes.

Salam.
