World Economic Forum selects Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad Al Thani as Young Global Leader

In another honor for the country, the Managing Director of Business Development at the Qatar Financial Center (QFC) Authority, Sheikha Alanoud bint Hamad Al Thani has been selected to participate in World Economic Forum’s Young Global Leaders (YGL) for the class of 2021.
The youngest and the only candidate from Qatar, Sheikha Alanoud joins 111 researchers, entrepreneurs, activists and promising political leaders from 56 different countries that make up the Young Global Leaders Class of 2021.
Annually, the Forum recognizes and selects the top changemakers, under the age of 40, from across the globe, to participate in the program as a Young Global Leader.
With her selection, Sheikha Alanoud will embark on a five-year program that entails executive education courses, expeditions, and collaboration opportunities amongst a network of peers.

The prestigious Young Global Leaders community comprises as many as 1,400 members and alumni representing over 120 countries. The community also includes prime ministers Jacinda Ardern and Sanna Marin, President Carlos Alvarado Quesada of Costa Rica, actor Yao Chen, lawyer Amal Clooney and filmmaker Wanuri Kahiu.

On her selection, Sheikha Alanoud said, "I am humbled to represent Qatar as one of this year's Young Global Leaders and proud to join other members from a diverse mix of nations, in shaping a more inclusive and sustainable future across borders and sectors.”
