The Public Works Authority (Ashghal) will implement a temporary closure on part of Al Rayyan Al Ateeq Street from Doha to Dukhan (westbound) and on one lane in the opposite direction.

The closed part of the road is about 200M in front of Al Rayyan Park, as shown in the map.

The closure will be implemented in coordination with the Traffic Department from tomorrow and last two months.

Traffic on the closed part of Al Rayyan Street to Dukhan will be diverted to the existing service road, while one lane will remain open to traffic in the opposite direction.

Speed limit will be temporarily reduced to 30km/h in the closed area and speed-breakers  installed for road users’ safety.

The closure is required to facilitate micro-tunnelling works of the Dukhan Highway East project, to complete the storm water system in the area.

The project includes construction of an 11km road with four lanes in each direction, upgrading service roads, including seven multi-level interchanges, and landscaping.

Ashghal will install signs advising motorists of the closure and has urged road users to abide by speed limits and follow signs for safety.
