QNB reiterates there is no impact on clients from alleged data breach
Qatar National Bank (QNB) has refused to comment on the news about alleged data breach of their servers, The Peninsula reported.
In a statement issued by the bank, they said: “Referring to social media speculation in regard to an alleged data breach, it is QNB Group policy not to comment on reports circulated via social media. QNB would like to take this opportunity to assure all concerned that there is no financial impact on our clients or the Bank.”
In twitter, there were many posts from the likes of cryptome.org suggesting there was a huge data breach at QNB servers and thousands of files with many details about customers and transactions were broken into.
There were no details about who are the behind the attack or the reason behind it and it was not possible to determine the accuracy of the info.
QNB in their statement said they are investigating the matter in coordination with all concerned parties.
The statement further said: “QNB Group places the highest priority on data security and deploying the strongest measures possible to ensure the integrity of our customers' information.
QNB is further investigating this matter in coordination with all concerned parties.”
Many security experts were talking about the breach on twitter. But it remains unknown if the data is genuine or how current the data is — and how or when it made its way into the public domain.

Passwords can be reset. but credit card info. no way to secure it. I couldn't find my details. But could find some of my colleagues details. Files have everything including credit card expiry date. One way to secure us is to replace the card.
Hopefully they've reset the passwords , so there won't be a "financial impact" on the clients..
Files are available online.
Interesting . Wonder what the reality is
