Qatar sends urgent medical aid to Equatorial Guinea

Qatar has always been quick to extend a helping hand to countries in need of support in times of crisis and emergency.
The country's humanitarian spirit has really shone through the COVID-19 pandemic as it came to the aid of over 80 countries while fighting its battle against the virus locally.
In the midst of this crisis, Qatar also supported Lebanon, Sudan and Turkey with urgent assistance to help alleviate the suffering of the people impacted by the natural calamities in these countries.
Now, under the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Qatar has sent urgent medical aid to the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.
A C17 aircraft of the Qatari Amiri Air Force delivered the aid to Equatorial Guinea to support relief efforts following the tragedy that occured in the city of Bata last week.
At least 20 casualties have been reported with hundreds wounded after a series of explosions at a military base in Equatorial Guinea’s largest city.
Qatar's aid to the country comprised a fully equipped field hospital as well as an integrated logistical and medical team.
In addition to this, Qatar also sent a search and rescue team of the Lekhwiya force to help in relief efforts.
