Qatar, Saudi Arabia discuss ways to enhance cooperation

Following the signing of the historic Al-Ula Declaration earlier this year, Qatar and the former blockading nations have been making efforts to strengthen relations for the security, stability, and unity of the GCC.
Saudi Arabia was the first to open its airspace, land, and sea borders with Qatar, following which the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and Bahrain opened their borders to the Gulf State.
As Qatar and Saudi Arabia work toward enhancing ties, recently His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani stressed Qatar's firm support to the Kingdom.
Yesterday, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud arrived in Qatar to deliver a verbal message from the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
The message underlined the deep fraternal relations between the two brotherly nations and ways of enhancing them.
As part of his visit, the Saudi FM also met with HE Qatar's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The talks between the two ministers focused on bilateral cooperation and some ways to consolidate relations.
The meeting also looked into enhancing Qatar-Saudi cooperation to boost the progress of the GCC, in addition to reviewing the most recent developments in the region.
The Saudi minister's visit follows from the Al-Ula agreement and affirms the strong fraternal ties between the two countries and their peoples. The visit also echoes the willingness of the Qatari and Saudi leaderships to boost Gulf and Arab unity for the overall growth and development of the entire region.
