Qatar’s diplomacy has always been and will always be based on principles, says FM
Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani has underlined the fact that Qatar is building its diplomacy on the basis of its principles.
He believes that the region also needs a coherent security strategy that enables people to coexist and live in peace, reported Gulf Times.
Speaking at an interactive session titled ‘Qatar’s perspective on regional issues,’ organised by the International Diplomatic Academy in Paris, HE Sheikh Mohamed said what happened in the Gulf crisis was an attack, an aggression and an attempt to change the rule in Qatar.
“This isn’t new. The same attempt occurred in 2014 and earlier in 1996. This aggression against Qatar started when it began to adapt to change, implementing a different strategy and a different vision,” he said.
“These countries don’t accept differences of opinion, and don’t accept a country that has a different approach. We refuse to give up our sovereignty,” he added.
Sheikh Mohamed pointed out that no concerns had been mentioned before the siege imposed on Qatar. He said the countries behind the blockade had created the crisis at a time when the region faced many challenges.
“We’re building our diplomacy on the basis of our principles, and we believe that our region needs a coherent security strategy that enables people to coexist and live in peace,” he was quoted as saying by The Peninsula.
“The basic pillar of our principle is that people aren’t subject to any political deal. When the issue is between the government and the people, we stand with the people,” he added.
He said that when Qatar started this policy, the first step taken was to liberalize the media.
“We were the first country in the region to close the Ministry of Communication and Information. We started legislating free media, guaranteeing freedom of expression under the law, focusing on human capital and means of developing it,” he said.
“We’ve invited different universities in different countries, including France, the United States and the United Kingdom, and we’ve given them freedom of expression. Investing in the human element has been one of our main priorities,” the top official said.
For those who trust God has nothing to worry. He will take care Qatar with his army of angels. As Qatar has followed the right manners with high level of professionalism and diplomacy in responding to the siege country's aggression, it deserves to be protected by God. God is enough for the true believers. It is the duty of every true believer of God to pray for making Qatar more stoner than ever before. God is the best making plan for his true followers.
