Qatar is among the safest nations on earth to live in, says MoI Director General

If you have been in Qatar at least once in our lifetime, then you will have a good idea of why the country constantly makes it to the list of safest countries on the planet.
Staff Major General Saad bin Jassim Al Khulaifi, the Director General of Public Security, said Qatar’s high global ranking was a reflection of its stability and peace despite all the challenges and crises it was currently facing in the region.
He said the country had a strong security structure in place, one that was acknowledged by neutral international agencies, reported Gulf Times.
In 2016 and ’17, Qatar was ranked first among the GCC and Arab countries and the 30th out of 163 countries in the Global Peace Index.
He said this was possible due to low crime rates, low number of prisoners, absence of terrorism and stability of the political situation.
Qatar also ranked first globally between ’14 and ’17 in the business costs of crime and violence index of the Global Competitiveness Report.
It was also ranked sixth in combating organised crime and ninth in public confidence index in services provided to the public.
Fighting terrorism
Qatar has a comprehensive vision for fighting terrorism, organised crime and drugs, Al Khulaifi told The Peninsula.
Qatar strongly supported the Doha Declaration, issued by the 13th United Nations Congress on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice. This declaration has so far managed to reach more than 20,000 beneficiaries under its four components —Integrity of the Judiciary, Education for Justice, Youth Sports for Crime Prevention, Rehabilitation of Prisoners.
Qatar has also signed several MoUs to combat terror.
The MoI has built systems and committees and issued laws and rules to keep pace with local, regional and international security developments.
Qatar will soon open a special, fully equipped building for the coasts and borders security in order to enhance protection and monitoring of the coasts and territorial waters.
Qatar 2022
The MoI will work hard to ensure the safe delivery of the 2022 FIFA World Cup. It will be in charge of the tournament’s security.
“In this context, we’re working with a clear training plan in building the human and technical capabilities of police and security personnel,” he said.
That's true. Compare to Saudi, UAE, feel more safer here. Al Hamdulillah
