Qatar has received the first batch of Apache-QA during a ceremony held at the Boeing Defense Systems headquarters in Arizona, US.

His Excellency the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defense Affairs, Dr Khalid Bin Mohamed Al-Attiyah was present on the significant occasion.

Apache is the world’s most advanced multi-role combat helicopter and is used by the US Army and a growing number of international defense forces.

The batch obtained by Qatar comes as a part of a deal signed by the Qatar Armed forces in a bid to attain the latest make of the fighter aircraft, reported Gulf Times.

For Qatar’s version, precise combat characteristics and highly advanced technological specifications have been embedded in the aircraft to allow superior performance.

The achievement of this type of aircraft is said to complete the Qatari fleet. Apache-QA will be in active service to enhance the various types and configurations of the Qatari Amiri Air Force, according to The Peninsula.

The agreement for the manufacture and delivery of Apache aircraft includes annexed chapters covering the maintenance and training of the Qatari crew consisting of pilots, technicians and weapons managers.

All the infrastructure, construction, logistics and technical arrangements to receive the fleet have been taken care of by the Qatari Amiri Air Force as this achievement is set to enhance the country's defense capabilities, reported Qatar Tribune.

In October 2018, HE the Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces Lieutenant-General (Pilot) Ghanem bin Shaheen al-Ghanem inaugurated the production line for the project to produce Apache helicopters for the Qatari Amiri Air Forces.

Qatar's Ambassador to the US Sheikh Mishaal bin Hamad al-Thani, HE the Commander of Qatar Emiri Air Force Major General (Pilot) Mubarak bin Mohamed al-Kumait al-Khayareen, Commander in charge of the project Brigadier (Pilot) Ghanem Abdulhadi al-Shahwani and Qatar's Military Attaché to the US Colonel Nawaf bin Mubarak al-Thani in addition to a number of high ranking Qatari Armed Forces officers and a lineup of distinguished US officials were in attendance at the ceremony.
