Primary classes to finish by 12.30pm in new academic year; only four subjects a day
If your child is a student in Qatar, you know the long hours they usually put in every day, irrespective of which class they are studying in.
However, those long days of classes will be a memory for primary school children in the new academic year as their work timings are set to drastically reduce, according to a top official from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, reported Qatar Tribune.
Starting from the 2018-19 academic year, primary schools will finish by 12.30pm and students will be taught only four subjects a day instead of the current six, according to Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs Fawzia Al Khater.
Preparatory and secondary schools to have two days ending at 12.30pm
Students in the preparatory and secondary levels will have the same end-of-the-week schedule, except on Wednesdays and Thursdays when classes will close at 12.30pm.
Al Khater said the curriculum will be distributed differently during the next academic year. While 40% of the curriculum will be covered during the first semester, 60% will be taught during the second semester after taking into account the holy month of Ramadan and Eid holidays.
She also said specialised companies were selected to print, prepare and publish textbooks before the beginning of the school year.
excellent, bravo, some schools are playing with school timing recently Ideal school rescheduled there timing from 6.50 to 6.40 and they are punishing the students for late coming in a barbaric way
