Partial closure and diversion on part of Dukhan road from Monday
The Public Works Authority announced that it will put in place a temporary diversion on part of the westbound lanes of Dukhan Road, leading from Doha to Dukhan, for a distance of 2.5km near the Mall of Qatar.
The diversion will be implemented starting Monday (May 16) and will be in place until August 7, in coordination with the Traffic Police Department.
During this period, traffic on the closed section of the Dukhan Road will be diverted to Al Rufaa Street, where drivers can use Al Rufaa roundabout and take a U-turn back to the Dukhan Road.
The closure is required to complete construction works as part of the Dukhan Highway Central project, which includes a new highway with the mainline road starting west side of existing Wajba interchange and concluding one km east of the town of Al Sheehanihya.
The project comprises of 15 km of a dual carriageway with four lanes in each direction, hard shoulders, and grade separated interchanges.
Ashghal will install road signs advising motorists of the closure. The authority requests all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure their safety.
