MME ordered to pay QR13m as compensation to Qatari citizen
The Ministry of Municipality and Environment was slapped with a hefty fine of QR13m for causing the death of a Qatari man’s racing camels.
Gulf Times reported that a Doha Court asked the fine to be paid after it was proven that the camels had died after being sprayed with toxic insecticides.
While QR10m was allotted for material damage (death of 15 quality breed camels), the rest was given as a moral compensation in addition to expense and charges of litigation.
The court affirmed that camel and livestock owners often submit requests to MME to spray their animals with insecticides. Specialist technicians then undertake the whole process.
However, sometimes, MME employees just deliver the insecticides and leave the owners to do the process themselves. In such cases, MME employees are held responsible.
An MME employee left the insecticides with the owner and upon spraying them, the racing camels died. Lab tests later revealed that the animals had died by diazinon poisoning.
I had to step in to hotel industry after spending 2 years which included theory and practical training. I started my career in a very small position equalant to a cleaner.
When I started recruiting people I always checked whether he knows the job. No matter what position it is. It can be a cleaner or a sweeper. There is way to do it.
When you have people whom we don't know whether they qualified or not qualified. For their eyes if some one knows how to take a little bit blood by chance, that person becomes permanent for this position as the apointer also need half known person.
So, when you have the penalty. You will have it for generations'.
Meanwhile a fine of QR200,000 was levied against a man who killed an expatriate with a car three months ago...
Camel>>>>>>>human being
A big mistake ........... by MME ................
i wonder....if the employee left the premis without sparying and if the camel owner have mixed something else would be the fault of the owner rather the employee....i guess the court have done their check by the way....most likely true tho...
We support this decision
So will the MME employees have to pay part of the fine ?
