Qatar can expect to see some rains on Friday night and the conditions could persist until at least Sunday, according to Qatar’s Metrological Department. Thundershowers are also likely in offshore areas.

The country’s Met department added that they were expecting low-visibility conditions in most areas during the early hours of the morning, reported Gulf Times.

The weather bureau’s all-new monthly climate outlook has predicted a continuation of unstable weather conditions throughout this month, especially during the second half.

According to The Peninsula, the Meteorology Department had begun publishing monthly forecast from last month. These outlooks, which are issued every Thursday on an experimental basis, will cover four weekly averaged forecasts of rainfall, winds, maximum and minimum temperature.

It also showed that the northwesterly winds are likely to dominate during the first week, as is the case now. However, the wind would weaken in the following week. The second half of March is expected to see more southerly to southeasterly winds in the region, the newspaper reported.

While the minimum (nighttime) temperatures are likely to be near normal or slightly above normal during the month, the maximum (daytime) temperature is expected to be lower than usual temperatures for the month.

“The Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) has been issuing Seasonal Climate Outlooks since April 2014 and now (February, 2017) we’re making an attempt to provide weather outlooks on extended range time scale,” said the Department’s QMD Website.

Meanwhile, the mercury levels have gone up across the country and a minimum temperature of 16C is likely in Al Khor on Friday, while in Doha it will be 19C.

The maximum temperature in Doha would be 26C, while minimum would be 19C. Messaieed, Al Wakrah and Al Khor would have a maximum temperature of 25C and Ruwaise would have 23C.

Abu Samrah and Dukhan is expected to have the highest temperature today at 28 and 27C respectively. Minimum temperature outside the city would range between 18 to 16C.
