Love for HH The Emir and ‘Tamim Al Majd’ displayed in different parts of the world
Two months into the illegal blockade of Qatar, the Tamim Al Majd poster, designed by local Qatari artist Ahmed Al Maadheed, has gone on to become a symbol of Qatari nationalism.
While the poster immediately became a sensation in Qatar, its impact has been felt in other parts of the world too.
Gulf Times reported about the southern Indian state of Kerala expressing their support to HH The Emir through car decorations, banners and murals bearing the iconic portrait.
Yesterday, The Peninsula reported about the iconic image finding its place in Westlands in Nairobi, Kenya.
According to the paper, a Kenyan expat, Ali Mohamed, took the initiative to put up the popular banner in his home town.
“We stand with Qatar against the illegal blockade. To show this support I put up the banner in Nairobi,” Mohamed, who works with Qatar Financial Centre, said.
However, showing love and appreciation for Qatar’s leaders is not anything new. Take a look at the video of this wedding in Kerala which had several cars adorned in Qatari colours. The absence of Tamim Al Majd images suggests the wedding took place before the current blockade began.

Dear QLers, have you seen some instances like these in your home town and clicked pictures? We would love to hear from you.
However, showing love and appreciation for Qatar’s leaders is not anything new. Take a look at the video of this wedding in Kerala which had several cars adorned in Qatari colours. The absence of Tamim Al Majd images suggests the wedding took place
before the current blockade began.
This video was taken after blockade...
Please watch again from 0.40 Seconds...
I am from Kerala, this video is just an exmaple, there are many more, impossible to count. Cars, bikes, walls, flags on top of buildings, etc...
