HMC announces changes to its visitor policy

With a recent spike in the number of COVID-19 cases, relevant authorities in Qatar have been urging the public to adhere to the recommended precautionary and preventive measures to ensure the safety of all.
The country recently reimposed a four-tier restrictions plan to curb the spread of COVID-19. Prior to that, the Cabinet had announced that starting February 4, 2021, a 32-point plan will be imposed across the country.
Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), which had yesterday announced that it will be stopping physical attendances at outpatient clinics in all HMC hospitals starting February 10, 2021, has today made another important announcement.
In a tweet, HMC said that from Friday, February 12, 2021, no visitors will be allowed at the following facilities:
- Communicable Disease Center
- Hazm Mebeireek General Hospital
- The Cuban Hospital
- Mesaieed Hospital
- All facilities of the Enaya Specialized Care Center

The Corporation said the decision to alter the visitor policy comes in the context of the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the country.
At all other HMC facilities, visitors will only be allowed between 12 pm and 8 pm. Only one visitor at a time will be permitted and that also for a time limit of 15 minutes.
Visitors must adhere to the preventive and precautionary measures including wearing a mask, showing their Ehteraz app and undergoing body temperature checks.
“These changes are made for the safety of our patients and visitors. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation,” HMC highlighted.
