HIA to charge QAR45 per day for long-term parking
Vehicles parking at the long-term parking area at the Hamad International Airport (HIA) will be charged a fee of QAR2 per hour and QAR45 for a full day.
Customers will be able to pay by cash or credit card upon exit at one of the payment kiosks at the car park.
Any cars parked in the long-term car park before paid parking is activated will not be subject to fees.
The airport management has advised its customers to refrain from parking for more than 60 days, which will lead to legal action in accordance with airport procedure.
In parallel with the introduction of parking fees, HIA will be increasing services in its Long-Term Car Park. Customers will now be able to enjoy a fully secured parking area with space for 2,540 vehicles.
There will be a regular shuttle service to the main terminal every 15-20 minutes. Further amenities will also be introduced in the coming months.
HIA Car Park Management recommends that passengers arrive to the long-term car park well in advance in order to ensure a relaxing journey and to avoid any incidents or delays that might result in them being late for their flights.
Passengers looking for further information on the airport, flights and airline operations can visit HIA's website.
Good move.. But make those who are parked there already pay to get their vehicles out.
I hope they stop using their one bus to pick up long-term customers in the parking lot and at the airport and then drive to the employee parking to drop off and pick-up employees. It adds 10 minutes to every trip. If they are going to charge this frustrating practice needs to end!
Just because there are too much vehicles already parked in the parking lots and even now it is being parked beyond the available area, i think HIA is forced to take such a decision.
I hope they will install scrutiny system or entering checking system or some kind of entry exit slips for Qatar Airways parking too.Where lot many other than QA staff also park and leave country for long term to save taxi fare. :)

It should be renamed to 'Long Term No Parking'. Why do they create facilities which are unaffordable and unrealistic???
people will prefer taxi. Looks like HIA wants to extend the runway
ya its right, better go by taxi.
For a week trip costs parking costs around 315 Riyals, yes taxi is better option ..
what!? I rather go for a taxi....
