Great weather brings greater joy to Qatar’s bicycle sellers
There is never a better time to start exercising than during winters. At a time when more people take to the outdoors to train, it is also spreading good cheer among Qatar’s many bicycle sellers.
Qatar’s cycle shops have been reporting a huge spike in sales since November thanks to the mild weather and also spring breaks at schools.
“It’s an appropriate season for cycling and bicycle sales picks up during winters. The construction of special lanes dedicated to cyclists on certain streets and development of playgrounds in new residential areas have given additional impetus to its sales,” Rangraju, manager of Gulf Youth Bicycles, told Qatar Tribune.
The arrival of automatic two-wheeled scooters does not seem to have taken the charm off bicycles.
When in peak season, wholesale bicycle sales often touch 250 plus every single day.
The prices of children's bicycles range from QR200 to QR4,500 in market. Bicycles with shock absorbers and oil-brake systems are now the rage among children. Their prices vary from QR1,500 to QR4,500.
The obvious health benefits associated with cycling encourages many parents to gift their children with new bikes.
