GCC citizen fined for assaulting boy

A Doha Criminal Court has fined a GCC citizen QR2,000 for assaulting a neighbour’s son.
According to local Arabic daily Arrayah, the incident took place when the defendant sought to intervene in a fight involving his 15-year-old son and the victim, also a teenager.
The two teenagers had an argument over some issue and soon it took a serious turn. As the two started attacking each other physically as well as verbally, the defendant went to help his son and, in the process, hit the other boy.
The victim sustained slight bruises in the incident.
The matter was brought to the attention of the authorities concerned and the defendant admitted to being involved in the incident.
Accordingly, the court convicted him.
