Duo arrested for stealing phone while drunk
The Criminal Court has sentenced two Asians to 15 months in prison for consuming alcohol and stealing a mobile phone.
Gulf TImes reported this morning that the court ruling stated both the accused will be deported after completion of the jail term
According to the prosecution, the accused consumed alcohol and made a plan to steal the mobile phone of the plaintiff, who was sleeping in a tent.
They illegally entered the tent and switched on a searchlight which awakened the victim. The first accused took the phone and when the owner attempted to snatch it back, he was threatened with a knife.
The accused later escaped with the handset. Both the culprits were later captured by the police along with the handset and the knife.
The duo had confessed to the crime before the Public Prosecution.
Happy to see such silly news in the Qatar media. Because the crime level in the country is that much low and the silly crimes also considered as big deals. Thank god for keeping such calm quit nations in the world in this era.
