Two Bangladeshi expatriates lost their lives in a car accident in the New Sanaya Area last Friday.

The deceased are Shahidul Hasan Saikot Chowdhury, 26, son of Abul Kashem Chowdhury of Jhatiyarakhil village in Chauddagram upazila of Comilla district and Md Shipon, 35, son of Ahmedullah of Teli village of the same area, reported daily-sun.com.

However, there is some confusion regarding the fate of 40-year old Farooq Bhuiyan, the third passenger in the car involved in the accident.

While BDNews24.com reported he had lost his life in the accident as well, daily-sun.com and Financial Express Bangladesh reported he was only injured.

The accident took place when the three were returning home in a car, said Saikat’s uncle Abdul Momin. After repeatedly hearing the message that his nephew’s phone was switched off, he got worried and made enquiries at different locations.

The bodies were finally found inside the Hamad Hospital mortuary.

Mohammad Rabiul Islam, First Labour Secretary of the Bangladesh embassy in Qatar, said the bodies will be flown back home to their families.

Our thoughts are with the bereaved families.
