Artist behind ‘Tamim Al Majd’ mural showcases his latest artworks at W Doha Hotel

Ahmed Al Maadheed shot into the limelight when a mural of HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, which he drew, became the face of Qatar’s resistance against the illegal blockade.
He later gave the original painting to HH The Amir.
The artist has now opened an exhibition of his latest works — titled ‘5/6’ to signify the start of the illegal siege on June 5 — at the W Doha Hotel & Residencies Art 29, reported Gulf Times.
The exhibition consists of 48 paintings and six distinct pieces of art.
The heads of various diplomatic missions in the country graced the opening of the unique art collection.

The exhibition, apart from around 12 portraits of personalities, showcases the country’s spirit of solidarity in the face of the illegal siege.
The exhibition also features a section on sports inspired by the recently concluded FIFA World Cup in Russia. It includes the six balls presented at the closing ceremony in Moscow, reported Qatar Tribune.
The exhibition will be open to the public from today until October 16 from 10am to 10pm daily.
