HH The Amir holds official talks with Kyrgyzstan President Sadyr Japarov

HH The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani arrived in Kyrgyzstan’s capital city Bishkek for a state visit on Wednesday.

Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov, along with a team of high-ranking officials and well-wishers, accorded an official reception to HH the Amir upon his arrival at the Ala Archa State Residence.

Japarov stressed the importance of Sheikh Tamim’s visit, especially as he is the first Arab leader to pay an official visit to the Kyrgyz Republic.

Later, HH The Amir held official talks with Sadyr Japarov, where the two leaders discussed ways to improve bilateral relations between the two countries. They also spoke about enhancing co-operation between the two nations in the fields of economy, finance, customs, military and legal cooperation, agriculture, food security, health and sports.

HH The Amir, who expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, emphasized the importance of the visit which coincided with the 25th anniversary of the establishment of bilateral relations between the two nations.

The official talks were attended by Chief of Amiri Diwan HE Sheikh Saud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Qassim Al Thani, Minister of Culture HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs HE Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, and a number of other senior officials.

Kyrgyzstan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Kulubaev Zheenbek, Minister of Economy and Commerce Amangeldiev Daniyar, Minister of Defense Bekbolotov Baktybek, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy Maksutov Altynbek, Minister of Environment and Agriculture Melis Turgunbaev and Minister of Justice Baetov Ayaz Batyrkulovich attended the meeting from the other side.

HH The Amir also attended a luncheon banquet, hosted in his honour by the Kyrgyz Republic President, at the Ala Archa National Park.
