Car Insurance Claim
Unfortunately my car was hit by another car last night. And this morning I got SMS from metrash that I should claim the insurance from the insurance company of the car that hit me.
Should I go to his insurance company or I can go to my insurance company since I have comprehensive insurance and let them do the arrangement?
Please advise. Unluckily this is my very first car accident for my 11 years of driving here in Qatar.

[Update 14-01-2018]
My insurance company called my today and informed me that the insurance policy of the car that hit me is expired already.
I was advised that in this matter a court case will happen.
I have to go the police station and inform them to update my police report mentioning court case is required. Once I received it, my insurance will proceed for the repair of my car and they will handle the court case against the person who damaged my car.
Great! Thanks for the update.
All is done. I went to my insurance company and showed the accident no. which I received from metrash. They just check in online, print it and he gave another paper to me bring my car to my preferred garage.
I don't know much about metrash report but suggest you call your insurance company and check with them if it is good enough before going there and wasting your time.

Thanks for your input. Yes I do have the metrash report which I think is sufficient to show to my insurance company as informed by me by the traffic police.
1st in 11 years is a good level, there are others who are ZERO for the past 22 years !
You should go to your insurance company but first get hold of a police report without which the insurance company will not entertain your claim. They will ask you if you have any garage of your preference where you wish to get your car repaired. If you don't have one, they will give you a document to any one of their accredited garages and you can take your vehicle there for repairs.
Please keep in mind that insurance companies will charge you 50% of the cost of spares if you wish to have replacement of damaged spares with original ones. However, if you opt for non-original (tejaari) spares, you will not need to pay a single dirham.
