WATCH: Tax in Qatar
Qatar recently approved a draft law to introduce a 5% Value Added Tax starting next year.
This 5% VAT on goods and services is expected to raise the country’s GDP by 2%.
This is a significant step in Qatar’s transition away from being an oil dependent economy. Other GCC states are also set to implement their own Value Added Tax policies before the end of 2018.
Qatar’s government is working on a new Income Tax Law as well.
