5 things we learned from the last round of champions league matches

1- Playing with 4 forwards is a bad idea

In Real Madrid’s game against Legia Warsaw the Real Madrid boss decided to go with 4 forwards Bale, Morata , Benzema and Ronaldo. This plan did not work as Real were made to struggle as Legia closed ranks and stifled play it also hurt Ronaldo due to the fact that the shape of Real Madrid was made to suffer and Ronaldo was ineffective in that game.

2- Juventus must sort out their midfield woes

If Juventus want t have any chance of winning the champions league they must sort out their problems in midfield. A switch to a 4-3-1-2 formation was meant to allow some much needed creativity in midfield. Pjanic was made to play in the trequartista role however it did not play well for them. Yes Juve have Higuaín but without sorting the midfield he may not be enough to win them the league.

3- Man Utd reject Chicharito is out to prove a point!

Bayer were able to defeat Tottenham and Chicharto was out to prove a point as his time recently in the premier league was not as great as he would have liked it to. His natural ability in front of goal never left Hernandez despite the lack of game time at Old Trafford, and he arrived in the Bundesliga with a point to prove

4- Guardiola pushes aguero for the right reasons

In the game against barca many player of Man city could be praisedfor their style of play. Raheem Sterling was a constant thorn in Lucas Digne’s side, Kevin De Bruyne’s excellent free-kick to make it 2-1 more than made up for a quiet first half, David Silva pulled the strings, Fernandinho did what he has done in most games this season and ran the show. But Aguero from the first whistle gave the Barca defence nightmares, whether he was chasing them down when they had the ball or running at them when he had it.

5- Arsenal qualify but more work lies ahead

It almost a guarantee that Arsenal should qualify to the next round however more work lies ahead for them if they are to mount a serious challenge in what might be Wengers last season at the Gunners. One thing they must do is to break the bank to keep Ozil he is without a doubt a massive boost to this side and can be depended on to lead the charge for them to reach the final, but that is still to be seen given there history so far in the campaign
