Smoked, I would say, the main “benefit” to being under his name is HE has more control over her life. :) Plus as bea said, no housing allowance, and other Company’s benefits. Do not do it unless you really need it. If let’s say you want to quit your job, but your company doesn’t grant you NOC letter, then go under your husband’s sponsorship. Other than that what for? To give your husband this “great” feeling of SPOSNOR, i.e. power

the main disadvantage is that you may not be entited to some benefits and allowances! check with your company first what their policy is so that you're clear whether you may be losing something financially. If not - then definitely go for changing your sponsorship to husband's.

I don't see many disadvantages to you being on your husband's sponsorship, unless he becomes unemployed or you part ways of course.

The main benefit to being under his name is you have more control over your own life really. It allows you to be more flexible with jobs and he can sign your exit permits and no objection letters etc. vs. having to have your Qatari Sponsor do it for you (which can sometimes be difficult depending on their availability etc.).
