Hi! We are filipino family currently residing in Oman and are planning to move in Qatar by 3rd qtr of this year.  We have two school kids (age 13 and 7).  We are planning to enroll them in Philippine School.  I would like inquire if phil school  still take late enrolees at that time.  Also what is the cost of living their in Doha.  Is 21,000 QR enough for a family of four?  What are the rental cost and any advice regarding for rent flats near phil school areas?  Got so many inquiries ^.^ hope someone can enlighten me..thanks you so much...godbless!!!

Hello aneenf,

Phiilipian school wont take late enrolment as there should would be a waiting list anyway. The phili schools here go by the same school start/finish terms as in the Phillipines. There are apartments near philli school. Rental is expensive (from 4-13k for 2bed, ranges depending on area and if in compound). Good sedan about 10K. Food and clothing is cheap. Your salary will suffice although you would need to go the bare minimum. Just in case, you will need to apply for a credit card as you will find it difficult to save.

Thanks so much for your reply. BTW, my husband company says that he has to get a 3 month bank and salary certificate before he can be able to apply for a family joining visa. Is it possible for us (his wife and 2 kids) to get and stay there on visit visa and wait for 3 months and re-apply for family joining visa? How long is the validaity of a visit visa? Again, Thanks you so much.

QR 21K will do you okay.. let say you get a flat for 5k, a car for 3k, school expense at 2k, food and misc expenses at 4k... you still have a few thousand savings..
