Highly recommend Dr Yukti at AlAhli Hospital. Very experienced and caring with small kids.....
I know this is an old thread, but for any new people looking for a dentist for children, (Pediatric Dentist or Pedodontist), I highly recommend Dr. Rafif Tayara who works at (what she calls) the Dental Kingdom, a specialized great clinic for children at Cedars Dental Center, right next to Al Ahli Hospital. She's very knowledgeable and experienced, but most of all, extremely patient and caring with the children. Definitely try her out! Their clinic number is 4486-4088
Dr. Susan George is probably one of the worst doctors I've come across.
Her treatments are expensive. Registration costs Qr25, Teeth cleaning costs Qr200 (and extra Qr100 for additional sittings). Bleaching (Teeth whitening) costs Qr1000 & above.
Moreover, she isn't the friendliest of persons. Go in for consultation to her, and she treats you like a third-class patient. In other words, her attitude is like - "Take it, or get lost." Doesn't act like a professional.
She is, however, quite qualified (MDS). But, I believe qualifications aren't enough. A doctor needs to build a good rapport by enlightening the patient about the ailment and possible treatments. From my experience, she doesn't have this quality.
Hi,
I went to Al Emadi hospital today and they dont have a pediatrician dentist so they referred me to Consultant Dental center, Dr. Laith. I went to his clinic behind Lulu big parking and he was out so I am going back at 7 with an appointment. The number is 467 7166. Apparently he will perform the procedure at the Al Emadi hospital.
Thanks,
Raidil, my daughter is only 3 and terrified of Doctors so imagine how much worst it is taking her to a dentist. I did all the rounds of the school dental clinic and Apolo clinic and Doha Clinic and I am still back to square one.
School Dental Clinic is good if your child will cooperate else they will give you two options, one is to strap up your child like in a straight Jacket or to use general anesthesia. For the straight jacket option they can do it soon but the general anesthesia will take one year to get an appointment. Apparently they are now treating patients of last year. We took her to emergency at School Dental Clinic and then she was referred to see Dr. Sahar in the regular hospital time. That took 3 weeks to get an appointment. So you can totally imagine the situation there.
Doha clinic was so far so good but today she said my daughter has a pallet infection too so it further complicates her case so Dr. Ghada said why not try Ahli or Al Emadi Hospital.
I am back in your shoes now. Ahli I know for a fact is extremely expensive. Al Emadi's number is 4666009. My neighbor just told me that she and her kids had a good experience with Med Care Clinic. The Dr there is Dr. Riyaz and the number is 4550755. I am going to check both tomorrow.
Thanks to all the waiting to see Dr. Sahar at School Dental Clinic my daughter's tooth infection got so bad that the pallet also got infected and swollen beyond your imagination. She was in bitter pain for two days and me being 6 mts pregnant I had to carry her to sooth her until the next pain killer doze was due. So my advice is do something quick before it gets really bad.
If you still want to give School Dental Clinic a try then let me know and I can give you my husbands number and he can give you the exact location.
Hope this helps.
Best of luck to you and me :-)
hey thanks.....actually i did take him there n they gave me a referral to school health center cos hes uncooperative but no one seems to know where this is...is this the same place as the pediatric dental clinic u mentioned....this was some time back will they accept the same papers that i was given or will i have to take a new referral...i should have been on QL earlier cos im new in qatar(jus 3 months) & have been breaking my head to find these details.also i dont know what an ok charge would be for dental services like extraction and filling cos my brothers in law always did it.so could u tell how much a good doctor would cost
take ur child to the health center closest to your house. yes they would need the health card. the health center would give you a referral to the pediatric dental clinic at the Salata area (past the wolkswagen roundabout, towards the Movenpick Hotel). There are good doctors over there, who take good care of the children while doing the treatment.
