moving pets to doha
Please help!!!
Can you recommend an agency for moving my pets to Doha?
I am going through a company in South Africa, but I aalso need to get an agency from Qatar to sort out the paperwork on Qatari side.
I got a quote from a company in Qatar (recommended by South African company I'm dealing with) and they are quoting 3200 ryals (2 cats and 2 parakeets). I want to compare the prices, as this seem too much!
Not have mind for moving pets to Doha just know something about Pet Veterinary Clinic.
We aren't really comparing apples with apples then are we?
Even so, the injections, airfares and clearing at Heathrow for only one cat still cost us almost £1,000. What's that, about QR7,000 and Turkey is relatively a short distance so what you are paying in total from South Africa doesn't appear over expensive.
talking = taking
i was talking 4 birds to uk only, no cats / dogs. they needed a house quarantine of a month duration, with vet's visits at the start and end of qarantine; so from the airport i took them straight to the flat.
Getting your pets out of a UK airport in three hours is interesting.
Did they not have to undertake 6 months quarantine and have to be collected from the airport in the UK by a registered carrier for transfer into a licensed quarantine facility?
Obtaining an import permit for the UK can only be undertaken via a licensed quarantine facility and follows completion of stringent anti rabies vaccinations. The animal container must carry all the necessary labels and a the key to the container must accompany the animal in order for the airport animal welfare staff to check the animal and for the quarantine facility to place the animal into quarantine.
We recently brought a cat to the UK from Turkey and it cost us (including flights) over £2,500.
I'm also paying 9000 ryals to bring them to Doha. I lived in UK before and when I was moving my animals to there, I did not have an agent in London; it took me few phone calls to arrange import permit and around 3 hours to get them from the airport, so if it is anything like what I've experienced in UK, that 3200 seems rediculously high.
That sounds fair. I am paying about 2400 for just one dog. That doesn't include getting him from the uk
actually, that seems cheap - welcome to the culture shock that is doha - expensive rubbish
