Can someone recommend a Western Dentist in Doha, but not Sarah Clinic

I want to share something with you guys, besides I need recommendation from whoever has a good experience with western Dentist here in Doha coz I am new to Qatar. I just finish my eleven months here. Recently I visited Dr Sarah Clinic. I saw an Indian Dentist named Lina. actually its my second time with her, coz three months ago she cleaned my tooth. so, last time It was weeks ago when I saw her for my treatment I was not satisfied with her but couldn’t find what I am looking for anyway she checked my tooth and told me that I need some work, I asked about some prices which is little bit more expensive but I told her I need more details about the price. honestly, I was planning to go to see another Dentist, she just started talking about prices at the center and she agreed with me about the high cost. then suddenly she told me about her husband he is a Dentist working in another Centre named Alrafa she recommended me to go there coz their prices are lower than Sarah Centre. But I told her its Ok the high price but can you recommend me a Western good one. she said she doesn’t know. anyhow I left from there and by searching for another option I found on the internet the British Clinic in Corniche and it’s a branch of Sarah Clinic, I talked to one of my friend who told me that is not a Western Clinic. the name is British, but when you go there u will find another thing (its all indians)!!!! really I am confused I need a help. I dont have problems with nationalities in general, so plz do understand my situation. I just need a Western Dentist to keep follow up and checking my tooth with him and I need good one for my family as well. I am really disappointed and no way to go back to sarah clinic whose dentists are recommended another clinic. I do not trust them anymore. besides her appearance she doesn’t look like a Dentist. she was lazy and un honest. at least she should recommend me a colleague of her coz in their website I just found Western Dentists working in the Centre. but I don't trust whoever cheats his work. I cant recommend anyone to go there. therefore, if anybody knows anyone meet with my needs plz let me know and this will be really appreciated. thanks

to Dr Sarah's . I find the dentists there friendly and knowledgeable . And as long as I am receiving good dental care who cares where the dentist is originally from ? As far as I know Dr Lina is a very good dentist and that is enough information for me .

Ouch!! My dear friend, I believe you need some help here. You need everyone to understand your situation, but let me make it clear to you, with that language and grammar (you are from UK!!!!) none of them will get a clear message. Your post are flying daggers. My kids are taken over to Dr Lina periodically and they love being with her. There are lots of conflicts in your post:Why the heck do you want a discount?! If you can't afford there treatment, opt for the Govt. health center. You must be SOOO in an other world....if you go into a room to find a 'LAZY and UN HONEST (let me help you here DISHONEST is appropriate) dentist where was your reasoning power..you could just walk out of the room..go to the front desk and say "Hello, would you be kind enough to change my dentist, i would like to have an other person to conduct my check up". You are the customer and you have the right for that as far as I know, now don't tell me you are an INTROVERT!!!!And my last pointer for you, if you need another dentist, this is how you put a post "COULD SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME FIND A WESTERN DENTIST"...you can blabber all about your experience but please be vivid and discreet.Hope you find a good dentist, if you don't get one check the yellow pages in the QTEL directory.

Dr.Sara clearly mentioned in her doctors profiles in her website. Many of the doctors are western educated and I don't believe Indian doctors are that bad as I worked 2 years in Delhi. If you are looking for a western doctor, why did you do to Lina? I think you are just another dentist here in Doha ;)

I use the family dental clinic, oppersite the american hospital, the director Dr Todd is the dentist I use, he is American and has been in Doha over 15 years, he is without doubt I'm my oppinion the best dentist I have been to! Even Better than the dentists I've seen in the uk, hope you find someone who suits your needs, after all us Brits are hard to please as we have such a high standard of medical professions back home!

Good luck

Actually, i dont believe in "westernern-can-do-it-best" attitude, I've been proven wrong in fact here in qatar and back at my home country.

Dear poster, Do u really need a competent dentist or a "western dentist"??

I think this will help readers understand you better.

I must admit I was cringing when I read your post. And not because of your predicament with finding a “western dentist”.

Really? You should be a little more careful of what you say on a public forum. What you have written at best could get the person in trouble at work, at worst you could be in court for slander.

My advice is to worry less about finding a dentist and more about learning how to behave in public. You either don’t care about others and what you say about them or you are very naive.

I am sure there is an edit button , use it wisely my friend.

I can understand the need for asking for a specific nationality as a dentist as you may be more comfortable with them but to name a doctor, who may not have impressed you, but may have helped others, is not prudent especially on a public forum.

If you have an issue with a particular doctor it would be wise to take it up with the management of the clinic than to name her here.

Dr.Sara's clinic is my family dental clinic for long time since I am here in Doha. I am verymuch happy and satisfied with their treatment. I agree most of her dentists ate Indians and Arabs but they are well experienced and western educated. Dr.Sarah is a successful women that is why she opened a second clinic.

well i guess she has no intention of degrading any race. she's just being honest with her preference so let's respect that:)

Instead of specifying a Western Dentist, do a search for a dentist who has received their Dental Degree from a Western University.  There used to be a Jordanian (by birth) dentist at Family Dental Centre near C Ring who studied at Marquette University in the US.  She was very good (she left and I don't know if she has returned or not, but I believe her brother is or was with that practice).

Western dentists don't guarantee good care or honesty.  I've heard of quite a few who not only grossly overcharged some patients but actually hurt them in the process.
