Fahes opening up three new vehicle inspection stations to ease congestion
To ease the congestion of the car queues that occur everyday, Fahes is opening up three new vehicle technical inspection stations in Al Khor, Al Shahaniyah and Al Wukair All three stations will also have number plate workshops and will open either in late February or the beginning of March.
The Al Shahaniyah and A Wukair stations will have four lanes for the inspection of light vehicles, and the Al Khor station will have three lanes for light vehicles and one lane for trucks.
Fahes already has four stations in different parts of Doha: Mesaimeer, Abu Hamour, Al Wakrah and the Industrial Area, but with the increase in the number of cars on the roads of Qatar and the resulting congestion during vehicle technical inspection at these stations, it was felt that more stations were needed.
These three new stations will cost approximately QAR.90-100mn in total. Fahes is also planning to open up number plate workshops at all its stations with the Traffic Department’s cooperation, and these three new and upcoming stations will be the first phase of this plan.
