Dear All,

I am Hindu from India coming to Qatar for 5 months with wife. My company has given full furnished flat and car also giving me 60 USD as a food allowance per day & fuel allowance extras. But I am worried with the life style in Qatar. I have few question in my mind regarding the laws in qatar.

Can I go out with wife for shopping, restaurants, on beaches, visiting forts?

Can women wears jeans & T-shirts or indian dress in public place?
can women go out for shopping alone or is it safe?
Indian TV channels are available?

how safe for a couple(Husband - Wife) to go out in the late evening in Qatar?

what about the crime rate in Qatar?

If there is any restrictions on behaviour in public places. plaese give me some idea about it.

Somebody are saying its not good living style here so come alone.

So please guide me so that i can come with wife.

Thanks in advance

There is not much beach, forts and tourist places here .most of the people spending time by visiting friends and watching TV. Also in the hot weather going out is difficult.

The only good thing here is the safety.

Thanks for your early reply.

currently i am in north america since 5 months in very cool weather always below -10 degree also had -25 degree, most probably i will fly directly to Doha & weather condition will be very hot in May.It will be big thermal shock for me. Is the temp always greater than 40 in summer season?

Is weekend enjoying on beach, forts, any tourist palces possible in hot weather condition? and also same thing possible in holiday friday?

Thanks in advance

Warm Regards,

Subhash

Don't worry... you can come here without any besitation.... life is much safer than India... and I think you have got a bargained package.. it sounds good. You will enjoy your stay here and I am sure you will definitely try to get your contract nenewed after fime months..

It takes a minute to find that special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them but then an entire life to forget them…

Here things are better than in India; especially for families and children.

Oh I just forget you are Hindu .right? ……………………!

Don’t worry you will be much safer than Muslims in India here in Qatar.
