who are unable to think for themselves - dreadful system of education. I have met students who have transfered from these schools and were afraid to breath unless the teacher told them to, and could not function without being told in minute detail what they should be doing or thinking.
Just out of curiousity I went for an interview for one once(not in Qatar), They wanted me to teach 50%+ English just because it is my first language - I am not a teacher of English !!!!
In fact they do not require you to have any teaching qualifications or even experience to work there!!!

I have never taught at a Chewyfat school, but I have known quite a few teachers who have had that misfortune. As far as I know, Chewyfat's textbooks are not "child-friendly" and teachers are not permitted to speak to parents. Teachers are disciplined if they do not strictly adhere to the Sabis system, so make sure that you are on page 44 of the textbook and don't turn to page 45 until you are told to.
hippo, is it so bad??? we have some friends with children in that school, they are satisfied and happy about the school curriculum. they are streight and seriuous, give homeworks and expect good students. Other schools here in doha are just for fun and owner's profit (except few of them of course).
Why on Earth should anyone want to sentence their children to a Chewyfat school? Why is it that every teacher I have ever spoken to has never had anything good to say about these dreadful schools? How is your child going to learn English properly, when so few English teachers want to teach in the Sabis system? There are plenty of good, well illustrated and motivating teaching materials available, but the "textbooks" used at these schools are dull, uninspiring and moronic. Of course, one of the main principles of any Chewyfat school is that the teachers are never allowed to talk to the parents, just in case the parents cotton on to the fact that you can only teach in a Sabis school if you are brain-dead from the toenails upwards.

Hey, adey, are those "robots" not exactly what society needs? Imagine, everybody would use his brain. No government could rule properly anymore.
