Cambridge School
We have recently moved to Doha from the UK. I am thinking of enrolling my 3 kids in the Cambridge School in Mamoura. They will be in Years 6, 5 and 3 from September.
Does anyone have any current first-hand experience with this school in terms of the quality of education, discipline etc.?
A lot of the posts on this site are old and the majority are negative. However, there are about 1500 kids enrolled in the school, and all those parents can't be wrong... can they?
Hi My children attend The Phoenix Private school and I am very happy with the progress that they are making. Coming from the UK I was very worried about the standard of education in Qatar but my children are actually being taught to a better standard than their school in the UK.
The school has a wonderful atmosphere and me and my children are very happy. The school also has a lovely uniform which is very convenient.
I would highly recommend this school to any parents looking for a school place for their children.

I also visited the school as I have kids going into yr.3 and yr.7, I wasn't very happy with what I seen in the school so decided against it..I have enrolled my kids in phoenix private school which is only bout 5 mins away, I also live very close to Cambridge school so u must be close to me...Ive been in Doha since April trying to get school sorted for my kids but I've had no luck as they are all full...I have my kids on waiting lists since last feb to try get school sorted....
Bazza what do you mean "Reliable source"?Is it Daily mail or something?
Aliarif... my facts were straight from reliable source. he was in prison. it doesnt matter anyway wheather he was in for 1 day or 1 month.. he was doing something illegal, thats hardly a good example to set for familys looking to enroll children in school.. its something i would like to be aware of if i was sending my kids to school there..
I have my 3 kids studying in this school... they have very good teachers... so far so good.
Incharge (Ms. Delia)... she is the best teacher i have ever known for kids...
In addition, Ms. Meheri and Ms. Shihara; a couple of teachers in KGs treats students like her kids or may be better than...
I will never change this school unless I have some budget issues...
for your information he was released in 1 day and he came to school for a week!
Hi, i was thinking of enrolling my kids there too until i went and saw the place i changed my mind. Just by chance last weekend i was in the sportsbar watching the lions rugby match and i got speaking to a man there he said hes a teacher there and advised to try for other schools. He also told me that the principal is in prision in kenya as we speak as he went there to try recruit teachers illegally for next year. They were working on getting him released.. bad sign
As a student the only negative part is that the teachers cannot always control the classes
If you're looking for British Curriculum, try Newton International School.
Doha College and most other schools don't have any places atm.
No other option good or bad
TRY THE ENGLISH MODERN SCHOOL.
Cambridge School is in walking distance from my villa, and they have places for September. Also, it is more affordable than Doha College.
I suggest Doha college as well which is under British Embassy.
