Through The Looking Clouds...
Was travelling by plane the other day. I got permission from the air hostesses to use my camera while on flight. Clicked a few pictures, including this one.
For a moment, the vast scene of blue in front of me made me think about how miniscule man is in front of his creator. It was pretty humbling. I wished to share this picture and thought with you all.
Have a good day ahead, everyone!
Nice shot,
You encourage me to try and use my camera on my next trip home:)
keep on man.
Yalla!
Thanks Straider. It is a sunrise shot. No filters were used, but white balancing was done. I haven't corrected the colours, it was more or less the same. I only adjusted the background light a bit and also added a touch of shadows, all on google Picasa editing software. Very light touches.
Whereabouts... somewhere near to India, 35,000 feet above ground, inside a congested plane. That's all I remember.
It's a pretty good pic. If I am not mistaken, one can see two cloud formations, the cumulus from the bottom till the middle of the pic and the higher altitude cirrus on the top middle of the pic.
Greeker is this a sunrise shot and where abouts was this shot taken? Any filters used?
Greeker, Thumbs Up... Good work..
Nice one. Was the blue lens included

PM me an email where I can send it to you. Thanks. I'm trusting you that you wouldn't use it for any commercial purposes or take credit for my work.
I trust you.
Can I get the high-resolution version?
That would be great... :)
You just struck a cord of my heart, gotta go fix it now...:)
That was a compliment...:)
Thanks
Salam
Sami, thank you.
Decent Mind, I had operated a laptop inside the plane before, but never a camera. So I didn't want to do something unless and until I was sure I was permitted to do it. So i clarified with the airhostess and she readily said I could do it. It was not like I formally enquired about it or anything. Maybe I didn't put that quite right, sorry. And yes, I will definitely post it in that site. Could you give me pointers on how to go about it? Thanks in advance.
Salex, thanks. It indeed was a humbling moment.
Gerryqs, I beg to differ.
mjamille, thanks, you're too kind.
Platini, I got only a moment to get that shot. The plane had moved ahead of it in a moment. The sun was just rising. The picture has had very little colour correction. It's almost true colours...
Kingster, I already explained to decent mind. It was not necessary, I just wanted to be sure that I was on the right side of the law.
Arabi nightingale, thanks.
livingqatar, thankee.
Dawestides, you sure could use it, no problems there. Could you consider adding 'Courtesy: Greeker' or something inconpicuously and also give a link to the original pic? That's be great. But you can go ahead and do it anyways. By all means.
thanks glamordecour
Nicaq, haha. I hadn't thought about the silver lining part until you said it. It indeed does look like it.
I can see the silver lining too! Thanks for taking an effort to capture the beauty of creation:)
GOOD SHOT ......greeker, keep it up,
...and pure sensations!
Greeker can I use it for my 3DS Max project? It's non-commercial,just a hobby of mine.
Simply amazing !
nice shot!:)

Flight deck is closed between take off and landing. No one gets in...

Yeah Dali getting shots in the cockpit a long time ago.... it was 2005....
I'll post when I get home, some good sunset shots...
amazing snap as always..
Nice photo but there is no creator
very very very momentary capture... i agree too on the below quote of urs:
"For a moment, the vast scene of blue in front of me made me think about how miniscule man is in front of his creator. It was pretty humbling. "
By the way you can post this shot in this site :
www.airliners.net where there are thousands of aviation related pics posted from allover the world.
It is proffissionally looking photo which can be accepted in the above site
Nice photo.
There is no need to take permission from cabin crew for taking window shots. Unless if inside the cockpit which is not allowed anymore since long time.
Beautiful Scene :)
Dali, trees and clouds too. Although I haven't built up a collection yet. It's the next on my to-do list...
Ukeng, Britexpat, Arien, thank you so much.
Exiled, waiting to see em.
Labda, thanks, Sweetheart. You're very kind.
Yasseen, thanks,
Jack, Am not sure where exactly this was, since I was in air. But this was not very near Qatar. I saw that the sun was rising and the pure light emerging. Not sure where it was. Definitely not Qatar.
Magnificent ...
Never seen so much clouds in Qatar....
Where were you flying from?
Exiledsaint lol long gone are the days that as kids we were indulged and allowed to sit in the cockpit during take offs and landings.
But please do share, i'd love to see them

Greeker you're always so thoughtful. Thank you, it's a beautiful pic. Have a great day!
--------Do I look like Bambi's sister???-------
I have some good ones from a flight back from Jakarta a few years ago including some from the cock pit.... when I get home I'll post them as I can't do it from work. (well except the ones from the cock pit as that will incriminate certain pilots....)
Fabulous shot Greeker, and so true.

HE WHO DARES WINS
Breathtaking picture Mashallah! I have two passions in life: Trees and Clouds. I can spend hours just marvelling their grandure.
Nothing is as dramatic as a European sunset with the dramatic hues ranging from shimmery reds, pinks and orange tinted clouds.
Nothing beats the majestic, slow yet noticable sweep of huge billowy clouds casting their shadow over the glittering emerald hills of Seychelle islands while you watch in awe.
As for trees, i have yet to enjoy seeing a variety i havent had the pleasure of seeing yet. So far the Noble grained bark of Oak trees has my vote. The generous leaves of the horse chestnut tree especially during conkers season!
Thanks for sharing :)
