ADSL2+ Modem for Ooredoo Connection
I am living in an apartment building leased by my employer. Ooredoo Internet connection is provided. However, it is provided only via wireless access from two wi-fi routers in the hallway that provide unpredictable performance. Those wi-fi routers are connected to a Thomson ST536 V6 ADSL2+ modem on the ground floor.
I found out today that I can connect an ADSL2+ modem to the telephone jack inside my apartment to improve the Internet signal.
My question is this: Can I use any ADSL2+ modem inside my apartment, or must it be one provided by Ooredoo that has been flashed with proprietary firmware?
Many thanks for whatever assistance you can provide.
I think you have the right to install your own ADSL line in your apartment. Ask your housing department if you can directly contract with ooredoo. I did that when i was in Qatar in 2009.
Might there be a particular brand of ADSL2+ modem or modem/router combo that will work well in my situation?
