Replace Qtel provided Wifi router

Hello,
Can the Wifi modem/router provided by Qtel be replaced by a store bought N-router?I'm trying to stream videos from my laptop to the xbox but the bandwidth provided by the Qtel router isn't enough.
If it can be replaced,would you recommend any particular brand ?

You can replace it with different brand like linksys or D-link but you have first to note down the configurations from the thompson modem.
