Bedaya and Akhlaquna collaborate to host a series of workshops
Bedaya Center for Entrepreneurship and Career Development (Bedaya Center), a joint initiative by Qatar Development Bank and Silatech, in collaboration with the “Akhlaquna” award team, conducted a month-long series of workshops in the social entrepreneurship sector to empower young people and provide them with the appropriate tools to carry out projects that address ethical and moral problems in societies.
The “Akhlaquna” award was introduced by Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation (QF). It endorses the idea that knowledge and morality are intertwined and consolidates their role as a basis for success in various areas of life and the prosperity of societies.
The award highlights Prophet Mohammed’s (PBUH) universal and inclusive values, such as mercy, tolerance, honesty, and generosity. It recognizes those who exemplify great moral character through initiating projects that serve their community and beyond.
During the month-long event, the Bedaya Center team, in cooperation with the “Akhlaquna” award team, held a series of workshops to identify social issues that our societies face and to plan solutions using smart and rapid intervention methods.
Participants between the ages of 15 and 20 formed working groups through which they addressed issues such as mental health and the environment, in addition to the matter of frontline workers combating the Corona pandemic (Covid-19), as well as other topics. Moreover, they also defined their tasks and began to communicate with governmental and non-governmental agencies to obtain support for their projects, which they will present for the award in March 2021.
Talking about the participation, Mr. Abdulla Faleh Al Saeed - Board Member and Acting General Manager of Bedaya Center stated, “The “Akhlaquna” award is not limited to inviting entrepreneurs to present their ideas only, rather it goes beyond that to reach the noblest and finest goals. Through our cooperation with the award's team, we have expanded its scope of work to include planting seeds of positive change in our community.
"The workshops will act as a catalyst to help entrepreneurs leave a positive imprint and touch in their country and convey their voice to society and the world through their ability to achieve something positive. In achieving this, these entrepreneurs will be role models and sources of inspiration for others by working on adopting good morals in their projects, which also helps spread the award message among members of society and subsequently instilling positive and noble values among all."
