Removing an old faucet in the kitchen can be a tricky task, particularly if it's located under a cabinet. The nuts that hold the old faucet in place can easily become rusted or stuck, so you may need to use a wire brush to loosen them. You can also try to use penetration oil to dissolve corrosion, but this method can take a long time. For small-sized cabinet doors, you can cut the nuts using a hacksaw or reciprocating saw. You can also call a plumber for this task.

Remove mounting screws

To remove an old faucet, first remove any mounting screws. It might feel difficult to remove the old faucet if it's been in place for a while. If it's stuck, you might need to cut off the supply tubes and remove them. This can be tricky if the old faucet has been in place for a long time. Once the supply tubes have been removed, simply unbolt the old faucet from the sink and pull it out.

After removing the nuts, you should make sure that you haven't left any water running. After you have a bucket underneath the supply tube connections, you can begin removing the old faucet. If you have thick deposits, you might need to use a second application. You will need to reattach the mounting bolts, which may be hidden under the escutcheon ring. You can now attach the new kitchen faucet gold by screwing it into place.

Use a bucket

The next step is to remove the mounting bolts. To remove the faucet, you need to dislodge the old mounting hardware. Sometimes, the old faucet can feel stuck. In this case, you may need to use a bucket to hold down all the pieces from the top. Be sure to grease the threads with grease to avoid freezing. To avoid leaking water, make sure to use a bucket to collect the water.

Disconnect the hoses

Before starting the removal process, it is important to remove the mounting hardware. If the faucet has been in place for several years, you may need to dislodge it. Before removing the mounting bolts, you can also unplug the supply tube. You will need to disconnect the hoses before removing the faucet. If you need to remove the old sink drain, you can simply unplug them.

Remove an old faucet

To remove an old faucet from a kitchen, make sure that the water supply is turned off and that it isn't attached to the supply tube. You can use a bucket to catch the water. Before you begin, make sure you're aware that the new faucet might be anchored by a plastic base. The plastic base may be hidden under the escutcheon ring, so it's important to check it before you begin the removal process.
