Chk out the video. Please advise from my view there are only little difference from win 7. I still prefer win7 for laptops. Windows are only good on touch screens.
hmmm Then i was right in my point. Windows 8 can be good for toch screens but others win 7 is the best.
Philip: i was having unbuntu some time before i removed it as i cudnt find much apps for the OS. Do you know how we can use apps like adobe photo paint and other apps on Ubuntu.
I do not use photo paint but still there are other apps also
Firstly, kids these days are growing up with this touch technology (as you can see so many kids using the ipad), so its easier for them to pick up this stuff, then for older people who are transitioning from older operating systems or those who dont know anything about technology. But just as the end of the video showed, he didnt know about computer specs, but the girl did. :)
I'm still using XP and do see the benefits of windows 7, but there are a number of things i just cant stand, but do think its a great OS for regular people. Me and my techie friend tried windows 8 and we both hated it, as of course we dont have touch screen monitors to utilize the touch screen interface, so he's staying with windows 7 and i'm starting my move to linux (Ubuntu).
Well, Win8 is definitely optimized for touch devices, however it works like a charm on non touch devices as well. Win8 has many, many under the hood improvements, which includes boot times, battery life issues et al.
I you really want to know, try installing a Win8 copy on an older Win 7 machine, which has been used for a long time. I have done the same and there are umpteen improvements with the same old hardware... :)

Windows 8 is just as simple and not really different from windows 7.
