Visa Refusal for DH

We applied for a visa to bring a domestic helper to Qatar from the Philippines. The visa was refused with no reason given.

We were applying though an agency and we submitted all the correct paper work required. The domestic helper is ready to come here and has finished all her required documentation/medical in the Philippines.

Has anyone ever had a similar problem in obtaining a visa for a domestic helper?

Would an appeal make any difference?

Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.

Thank-you!

I think our mandoub reapplied just once but he was very insistent about not taking "no" for an answer. It took maybe another 10 days. I remember that someone posted on QL that she had been denied a maid and she went and cried and told them she was looking for a job and would need child care and they granted it.

Thanks for your reply. I was totally shocked when they refused the visa. This country can be very confusing especially when you more than meet the required criteria.

How many times did you have to reapply and how long did it eventually take you?

thank-you.

Yes, we had to apply several times in order to get permission for our Ethiopian maid. For some reason they like to turn you down the first time, so keep trying.
