***URGENT APPEAL***
Dear QL members,
The Veterinary Surgery is facing a HUGE problem. They might have to get rid of all their 'rescue' animals (cats and dogs) by the end of this week and have NOWHERE for them to go. We are talking here about more then 20 dogs and 46 cats. As you all know QAWS site is just being cleared and it will be a while until they are up and running again.
PLEASE - help the Veterinary Surgery as they are at the moment the only place which was taking in stray animals. If you can help or know somebody who can foster or adopt one or more cats/dogs, please call Kim (manager of the Vet Surgery) on her personal mobile. The number is 5579116.
Once again, please help us out.
Thank you so much in advance for any help you can give us.

The government are not interested in taking in stray animals!! They call QAWS when they have any animals that need somewhere to go. There are very few "farms" that have the facilities to house animals properly - even temporarily. All of the animals need air conditioning, the correct diet and proper handling. They can't just be put outside and left alone.

Hi
shame indeed
so sad to read that.where all the poor animals will go?
i suggest u ask Government hospital for animals help.

my best wishes for animals
i can only pray :.....(
best of luck
... as requested above is 4367187. Kim is most times not at her desk and has to leave her phone there to attend to other things.
The puppies are for permanent adoption though, not foster, so make sure you're definitely ready for a long commitment! You would need to get your parents to fill in any paperwork as well if you are under 18.

Ainsley- There are quite a few pups and They are very playfull. Keep trying to contact the vets as they really do need more peeps to adopt of foster.
Take a trip down and see for yourself and I am sure you will walk away with a new pup :-)
Sorry to burst your bubble but ALL puppies are VERY high maintenance!!
As far as I know there are a couple of mixed breed puppies that will be medium to large sized when adult. They will need someone who is at home all day as they are not house trained and you will need to teach them not to chew everything.

hey i tried calling many times but not answer..!!! Are they any puppy's available for adoption & less maintenance..!!!
... a gorgeous pet rabbit for adoption!!! :)))
I have a rescued Kitten, I dont need anything, if you promise to take care of this Cat, I will be more than happy to give it to you !!

We cannot control the evil tongues of others; but a good life enables us to disregard them.
I know how close you guys work together :)
Ok, approximatly how much will it cost to adopt a kitten?
and yes there is difference beween street cats and home cats because the cats that spend all thier life in street will be more shy and aggressive towards human!

I dream things that never were; and I say, "Why not?"
Adoption is not free - you would need to make a donation towards the animal's vet bill as he/she will have been neutered, vaccinated, de-wormed and health checked. It's also nice to make an extra donation towards all the food and litter that the rescue people have paid for.
95% of rescue cats here are just regular DSH (the normal short-haired breed you see everywhere). There's no difference between "street" cats and "home" cats. One just lives outside! If you were given 2 kittens you would not be able to tell which one was originally born on the street and which one was born in a home.
Anyone wanting a pet would have to prove to the rescue people that they were serious about it, had all the accessories, equipment and food ready, and they would have to take the pet with them when they left Qatar.

I have 3 questions casue am new to this adoptiing thing.
Is it free? i mean should u pay to adopt? and is there any terms?
what type of cats u have? I mean cats like those we see in streets or home cats? : ) _____________________________________________________

QAWS have offered Kim places for some of the dogs and cats at Paws & Claws Boarding Kennels & Cattery (currently, for the next 2 months, operating as a temporary shelter). We will take as many as we can to relieve the overload.
We are still taking in rescues, as and when we can, and are still functioning as usual.
QAWS also has a mountain of pet food, kindly donated after the fire....We will make a plan to deliver some to Kim asap for those we cannot accommodate at this time.
Yes got it too :-)
Yes got it this time!!! Phew!!! I replied to you :)))
Alumnar, have sent you another one too and mine makes 3, how very strange??
I have sent you an email with all details, it is strange you are not getting your pms here, I sent at least 3 :(

HAY - would you like to marry me?

Go past La Cigal and at 3rd set of traffic lights just before hospital turn right, then take first right and first left and its just round the corner on left.
Alumnar, have sent you one about 10 mins ago, did you not get it?
... coming past Hamad Hospital (with the Hospital on your left and Lulu's on your right) go straight through the White Palace Intersection (traffic lights). You will come to Al Rayyan Road. As soon as you see Barbie Beauty Salon take a right, then immediately first left. You will find the Vet Surgery 50 meters down there on your left :)
Contact number for the Vet Surgery: 4367187.
... you can drop me a pm with your contact number and I will send you mine. I am sure your daughter can do with a playmate (my daughter is 6 years old) and we can have a coffee or whatever you would like :)
Where is The Veterinary Surgery located
[img_assist|nid=50852|title=hmm|desc=|link=none|align=left|width=|height=0]
That would be lovely, thank you for the invite. Something to look forward too :-)
Why don't you come over to the Coffee Morning Thursday at Columbus Cafe in Villaggio? There will be MANY mums, some with kids, and we all get together for a couple of hours, mingle and chit chat about anything we feel like. There will be a lady representing an academy which provides all sorts of activities for children, might be interesting to see if something will suit you until your daughter is at school :) (and at the same time meet many of us QL Mums in Doha)
Yeah that would be lovely Alumnar. My daughter is not in school yet, No place for her so she will be with me :-)
... and there is no difference between 2 and 3 dogs, just like between 2 and 3 cats. I have 2 kids (1 being husband too, of course!). We should meet up sometime for a coffee and chit chat :)
Another dog that is :-)
I think that would be to much to cope with. 3 kids (one being husband) a dog and one on the way lol.
;) what can I say... at the moment I have a broken heart from visiting the Vet Surgery and that's all that's on my mind at the minute.
Great solution, Alumnar!
Mandi
... is called Fluffy, so I am a little suspicious to suggest the name Fluffy!
Why not adopt another one and call one Fluffy and the other one Maizey? :P
Ok, My husband and daughter want to call our new pup Fluffy whilst my son and I want to call her Maizey. What to do???
... financial help towards the boarding/vaccinations/food and treatment of stray cats and dogs - as they are stray nobody is paying for them to be boarding at the Vet Surgery :(
whats the requirements?
" WINKY DOODIE WINKIE DOODLE DEE "
... every bit of help counts!!!
...that if you can't foster or adopt a pet then you can sure help (within your possibilities) by going to the Vet Surgery and contributing with whatever amount you can towards the cost with the stray pets.
If you would like to I can meet you somewhere convenient to you and collect the money - and supply you with a receipt after I dropped the money off at the Vet Surgery.
Well done me and you!!!!! Thank you a million times!!! :))))) You put a smile on my face!!!!
Yey we have adopted a new pup. She is beautiful and we are picking her up on saturday. I just want to say there are so many lovely dogs, pups and cats up for adoption or fostering, it would be a great shame for them to "go" through no fault of their own.
... me and you! Every little bit of help will be so appreciated! :)))
Will be calling her later. I have already adopted one dog after the fire but I am sure I could manage another one :-)
