ROAD RAGE
WAS DRIVING ALONG THE OTHER DAY, MINDING MY OWN BUSINESS AND GOING ABOUT MY DAILY WORK. A QATARI DRIVIER WAS RIGHT BEHIND ME KEPT TRYING TO PUSH IN FRONT OF ME, HE WAS VERY IMPAATIENT.
sOON HE REALISED THAT I AM NOT GOING TO MOVE OUT OF HIS WAY, SO HE OVERTOOK ME AT GREAT SPEED AND HIS CAR WAS RIGHT NEXT TO MINE AS HE OVERTOOK. CLSOE SHAVE OR WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!! IT DID GIVE ME A FRIGHT COS AS SOON AS HE PASSED ME, HE PULLED UP IN FRONT OF ME AND HIT HIS BRAKES AND DROVE SLOWLY!!!!!
INSTEAD OF STOOPING TO HIS LEVEL, I WANT TO TAKE THIS FURHTER AND REPROT THE INCIDENT. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THERE ARE ANY TRAFFIC VIOLATION HOTLINE NUMBERS THAT I CAN RING IN ORDER TO REPORT IT???
IF THERE ISN'T, THEN IS IT NOT POSSIBLE TO SET UP A LIST OR SOMETHING IN QATAR LIVING OF DANGEROUS DRIVERS (REGISTRATION NUMBERS), WHICH CAN LATER BE SUBMITTED TO THE POLICE.??
We know there are alot of stupid drivers in the area.. how come you just didn't yield and let him pass you, especially if you happen to be in the left lane where slower cars should give way. By holding your ground, you did stoop to his level. If an accident happened when he overtook you, you could have been badly hurt. It will take a long time before they change their driving skills and it is not worth the aggravation and stress. How did you know he was a Qatari?
I agree with Amnesia! The police is there for this kind of situations, get in touch with them, and if everyone did that and didn't just assume that their complaint would fall on deaf ears, then the police would realise how serious the issue is, but i noticed that most people will not complain because they think they will not get an instantant result.

Wow if someone nudged my car, I'd put it in reverse and force my paint on his bumper. Then I'd take his plate and report him.
Whenever you have an issue, you should go to the closest station and step in to report it.

Lets take the reckless driver's name plate when you encounter situation like this and report it in QL. Make a separate forum and start listing . No one can change this situation alone but we can try.
Alternataively, you could always call in PC Plod in and take Big Ears with you next time for back-up.
QATER ALL R LIKE THIS WE SHOULD GIVE THEM A LEESON
Happens all the time. last week, driving back from meeting at the Marriot and slowing down for the queue at the roundabout. I could see a guy in a Large White LandCruiser coming up fast behind lights ablaze! I didn't move over "cars to the left of me, cars to the right here I am stuck in the middle with you" (apologies to Steelers Wheel). He then started nudging my nice new car forward!! Fortunately- no damage. I approached him and interupted his (non hands free) phone call to take issue with him. Not that it made any impression as when the traffic moved he started pushing from lane to lane.
Very next morning, my wife was in a queue taking the kids to school and another Large White LandCruiser (what is it with those guys?) actually started pushing her car forward to try to make space to come into the lane.
There was talk of setting up a hotline for calling the police, but can you imagine it? It would be meltdown within minutes with genuine complaints and with any other mean spirited people randomly taking numbers!
It is easy enough for the Police to take the wrong car number and fine people (as we read in QL and hear from friends) so whilst every trip to and from the Salwa Ind area to Doha every day would enable me to provide long lists of errant drivers.............
