Resignation and Termination -difference
Hi all,
One of My friend given Resignation cum release letter to the M.D through dept manager, very next day he got the termination notice without stating any reason from Md's office.
Does it make any difference to get the release and end of service benefits?
He signed and accepted the release letter. He was locally recruited and given release letter to the company. We still don't know why resignation letter not accepted and they issued a termination notice.
Plz giv your views according to qatar labour law..
thanks...
Giving a termination letter in response to an employee's submission of a resignation letter is an immature and unprofessional reaction of this company. Your friend is better off not working for this company. I just hope he would get an NOC from this company, which--in my opinion--is highly unlikely considering the attitude of this company's management.
..and there was this case of a colleague some time back whom the company removed giving excuses like recession, lack of new business, no new contracts, etc, etc and then the manager out there instead of telling clients and others the actual story when asked, was telling them that my colleague had been terminated and everything else but the truth.
They did not accept the resignation probably because they think it will not reflect good on their reputation as employers.. some of them prefer to give termination letter, so then it would look like the employee being terminated is the one who actually came short of expectation, and not them..
Termination is a non-mutual decision to end service. They perhaps choose this option as a form of expression of employer dissatisfaction.
When my manager decided that I should leave my previous company, the friendly director advised me that I should put a resignation letter rather than they present me with a termination letter, so that it looks better in case of future employment. Exactly the opposite.
