Rental Agency Fees/Commission
I'm in the process of looking at new flats - mostly on The Pearl - and all the ads say 'commission or agency fee applicable'. There are a few that say 'no commission' but all that are suitable for me mention agency fees. I would understand paying a fee if an agent is showing you various properties, brokering a 'better' deal with the landlord, etc., but charging upwards of 5K to show me a place I've found myself online just doesn't seem right to me. Am I missing something - is there a way around paying this fee? I'm not even opposed to paying a fee, but 5K or 6K (half a month's rent) - just doesn't seem fair to me.
Any assistance or advice would be greatly appreciated.
You might want to drive around, stop to some towers and talk with the reception.
One tower in which you can make the contract directly (so no agency involved) is no 27. There might be others as well.
Sadly, this is a reality here - easy money for nothing..
Q: If you are stranded on a desert island with Adolph Hitler, Atilla the Hun, and an estate agent, and you have a gun with only two bullets, what do you do?
A: Shoot the estate agent twice.
