Hi. I received one email as follows. Is this for real and are there really incidents like this happening in Doha? It states this has been reported

Important notice please read DANGER in DOHA

PLEASE SPREAD THIS TO AS MANY PEOPLE AS YOU CAN, HELP SAVE LIVES OF OTHERS.

READ CAREFULLY

PEOPLE IN DOHA SHOPPING MALLS AND CROWDED STREETS (like: National area, Najma, industrial area and Al Wakra) might approach you to buy a perfume if you refuse they may still insist you try the sample smell. The smell has a killing gas, which will eventually kill you .
Reported by the Qatar government and Qatar police, 18 people have already died and 35 are still in hospital.
Please pass this message around to everyone you know, or may know via e-mail.
They spoke about it live yesterday.
Beware: do not, I repeat, do not smell any perfumes from any random people outside, unless they are from authorized agents in proper perfume stores

This mail may be prepared by a Perfume shop owner, may be people are buying perfumes from outside sellers and effecting their business, so they wanted to stop it.

Totally ..... Bullshit ! Firstly no scent or gas causes instant death just by sniffing them ..... you may loose temporary Consciousness ....but no death !

Around Safeer Shopping Center yes, you will encounter many people selling Perfumes and good like that including pictures of Holy Kaaba. These are the jobless peoples unfortunately, and mostly from Pakistan. There is nothing dangerous like killing gas. I also meet a Saudi Visitor (Last Night at around 9:00PM) asking for money coz he finished all his money and cannot refuel his car or fill his stomach.

There is something fishy !. Yesterday a man with a strange look approached me in the Lulu parking lot with small samples of what looked like small samples of perfume.

I did not receive the samples though, now thinking of it I really wonder...... Could it be kiling gas or just some hot air...:-)

Thanks.

I just copied and pasted it from the email I received.

People are just so mean to spread rumors without basis. It makes people panic at times. I have been receiving a lot of stuff like this...

First of all Supermanqatar, I am not posting it as if it was true... that is why I asked if it is for real.

This email has been circulating in our office today and I doubt it is true as well. But no harm in asking... you are all from everywhere here in Qatar that is why I am asking if you knew of any situation such as this one.

Some of those that have read it thought it is related to the incident in City Center yesterday, March 6 where all building occupants are asked to vacate the building ASAP.

Thank you all. At least I know Doha is still safe afterall.
