Query related to Family Visa Cancellation

Hello,

I will be going back to India on 31-Jan-2018 after cancellation of my Work Visa. My wife is also having resident permit in Qatar. She has been in India since last 3 months and does not plan to come to Qatar to cancel her RP. I went to immigration to cancel her RP but i was told that since she has not completed more than 6 months outside qatar, we cannot cancel her RP. The only way you can cancel her RP is by bringing your cancelletion form also and then they will cancel my and my wife's RP together.

The expiry date of her RP is 14-Jan-2018. My query is that is it ok that i will cancel her RP after the expiry date of 14-Jan-18? Will there be any fines for this?
