Query about Residency Permit

Any help/advice greatly appreciated.

Basically I accepted a job in Doha and having been here for 1 month now it has transpired the job is not what I was 'sold' and promised before arrival. Hours are different, holiday is different and the team size I was promised to be working with is 50% of that figure. I was pretty much 'duped' into coming here and as a result do not wish to continue with said employer. I didn't get to see my employment contract prior to arrival, which I now believe is a requirement? Otherwise I never would have come. Stupidly and naively I signed said contract on my first day with my new boss as I didn't want to be awkward but now I realise how different the job is and manipulative they have been.

I don't intend to stay and was hoping someone may have some advice/experience on where I stand with leaving the country.

I entered on an employment visa and the stamp in my passport says valid until May 2017 (3 months). I haven't yet completed the process of gaining my residence permit (no finger prints etc.).

Am I effectively free to leave at present or do I still need an exit permit even though I don't yet have a residency visa and therefore I'm not technically a resident?

I really like Doha itself and ideally would change jobs but from my reading thus far this sounds impossible.

Many thanks in advance!

you are not the first one that had the same fate. good thing there is qatarliving that can help or inform or advise people in situation like yours. so file resignation now and leave while you still have chance or regret later.

Since you are still in probationary period you can submit resignation with 3 days’ notice and your employer will be obliged to send you back home with exit permit.

Leave permit is required if you are more than one month in Qatar even if you do not complete your medical and RP process.

But you will be free to come back to Qatar with any other company after leaving, their will be no ban or waiting period after leaving.

Try to leave as soon as possible before going for fingerprint and medical. You are still not governed by any contract or law. But once u do all the formalities for RP after that will be difficult. So better pack your bag and find some good employer.

From my understanding, as long as you haven't carried out the medical and fingerprinting, you should be able to leave
