I want to know exactly the truth if they are already safe in the qatar law and nothing to worry about, the woman is 3months pregnant before they got married. There are some told that there is nothing to worry. I want to confirm.. Please help them thank you very much. Ur answer will be appreciated.
ProjQatar, we are different, me and my wife having the same situation, we got married during 3 months of my wife's pregnancy and now it is already 8 months. we never had a problem during the check ups, I am just looking for the feed backs just to make sure :)
It is very important to be aware that it is illegal for an unmarried woman to be pregnant in Qatar. The consequences of the authorities discovering that a single woman is pregnant include jail and deportation, and even physical punishment (lashings) in some extreme circumstances.
For that reason, women who are not married and find themselves pregnant while living in Qatar should plan to head for home, or to another country. As a marriage certificate is required to have access to maternity care, even getting married after conception will not resolve the situation. Unmarried women who do leave Qatar due to becoming pregnant may also face problems if they return to Qatar after giving birth.
llew and whistler - are you two in the same situation or are you the couple in the story? anyways, if they are already married - then there is no problem at all... it happened to my officemate and they got married when she is already on her third trimester...
that would b big problem if you go to any clinical check up coz they will ask a verify papers documents about u and your spouse....the moment no such this kind of paper for sure your in danger to authorities together you partner ....
without marriage certificate or proof they will not accept any pregnancy case and before marriage pregnant is against Arab law better you send her home country for pregnancy
Before marriages it is not allowed to get pregnant as per Arab country law and do not attempt to approach any clinic or hospital for check up without appropriate documents like marriage contract; otherwise they will face punishment like immediate deportation or in jail for few months or maybe years.
If the woman seeks treatment is any of the hospitals here then she is required to present the marriage certificate. If she has an authorized document, proving her marriage, it shouldn't be a problem. The hospitals can call the authorities if proof of marriage is not presented. And they usually withhold the ID card, until the proof is submitted. Hope this helps.
